Getting the basics – like tax and bookkeeping – on a strong foundation is fundamental for any business. We have helped Keith and Ros from KPBC do just that.

Keith Pulham Building Contractors (KPBC) is a successful local building contractor and family business that have been providing their services for over 36 years throughout Stow on the Wold and surrounding areas. Keith Pulham established the business in the 1980’s and as the business grew brought his sons Lee and Gary on board.  KPBC appointed us in 2016.  

Reviewing their business structure, we immediately identified the tax advantages of incorporating what had been a partnership into a limited company, and with this change implemented in April 2017 the business has seen tax savings year on year.

At the same time, Keith’s wife Ros, who is instrumental to the administration of the business, was maintained the company books and records with a workable yet basic spreadsheet based system.  We felt that there was a lot to be gained by considering a more automated system, and in 2017 we introduced them to Xero Accounting.  Xero is ideally suited to businesses like KPBC, with all the tools they need to “take care of the numbers” while at the same automating numerous accounting functions that time reducing the time spent on managing the books.

Naomi from the William Hinton team worked closely with Ros to train her on the platform - initially in structured one-on-one sessions and later by assisting with queries as they arose, and we remain on hand to help Ros in her day to day running of the business.
